Supporting all your finishing needs

MCM Conveyors, a division of Amber Industries Ltd., has developed and manufactures its own high quality range of light, medium and heavy duty overhead conveyor systems which are marketed under the Autotrack (AT), Powertrack (PT), Sidetrack (ST), Dualtrack (DT) and Freetrack (FT) brand names depending on the type of system.

The modular designs of each of these conveyor systems are complimented by a full range of accessories which enable them to be easily configured to suit the most complex layouts and routing needs of any surface finishing plant.

Recent finishing industry projects include:

Johnston Sweepers – A new finishing plant was commissioned to include shot blast, painting booths and paint application equipment, all served with MCM conveyors overhead system FT500.

A major feature is the ability to easily load and unload sweeper bodies weighing up to 2000kg, whilst being able to move them manually around the system via a series of switch points. The FT500 conveyor system uses load bars each connected to four trolleys to carry the sweeper body. The load bar design allows hook positions to be moved easily to suit different sizes of sweeper models.

Sweeper bodies are loaded onto the system via a load drop section, where the track lowers to allow the operator to load the units. The sweeper bodies are then pushed into one of two shot blast booths for manual blasting before being pushed into one of four paint application booths. Once the painting and drying operations are complete, the product is un-loaded via an unload drop section and the empty trolley sets returned to start of system.

SEW Eurodrive’s new manufacturing facility incorporates an MCM Autotrack 500M Power & Free conveyor system which streamlines the process of painting their range of drive units.

The conveyor handle’s units up to 1000kg, transporting them through the various processes along the paint line. It is designed with a facility enabling product to be automatically diverted from the normal business route to a Fast-Track route, thus allowing SEW to service customers on an urgent basis. The conveyor system’s two drop stations within the spray booth and inspection area are designed to have the capability of raising and lowering products vertically whilst also allowing the operator to rotate units. This ensures full paint coverage of the product is assured.

The use of state of the art programmable controllers enables the integration of the conveyor with other paint line equipment thus ensuring product movements and timings are coordinated.
