QUALICOAT Gain RIAI Approval for CPD

As the benefits of a QUALICOAT specification gain awareness across the UK and Ireland, the association decided to apply for approval from the The Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI). The approval was recently given for the QUALICOAT CPD titled ‘Setting the Standard for Architectural Powder Coating’.

The two QUALICOAT applicator members, based in Ireland, Sprint Coatings of Dublin and Architectural & Metal Systems of Cork have agreed to offer the CPD to architects in the region. The CPD crucially covers the the quality issues of obtaining a good life expectancy of the coating, especially by ensuring a quality conversion coating is first applied to the substrate material prior to powder coating.

Crucial to getting the specification right is the work the QUALICOAT members themselves who play a vital role in specifying what finish is suitable in what location. With more resilient classes of powders and various pretreatment systems, including that of a ‘seaside’ specification, getting it right first time is what the CPD explains in detail.

Should you wish to have a CPD given by a member of QUALICOAT in Ireland, or the RIBA approved CPD in the UK, contact the QUALICOAT head office in West Bromwich, or contact your local QUALICOAT licenced applicator.

The next QUALICOAT UK & Ireland members meeting takes place at the Metalforming Centre in West Bromwich on the 26th June, please contact Jan via the website should you wish to attend.
